VENEZUELA
Venezuela is a country in South America bordering Guyana, Brazil and Colombia. The country is famous for its tropical character and the beautiful skyline in its various cities.The country rises from coastal lowlands to interior highlands; its highest peak is the Pico Bolivar, part of the Andes mountain range, which rises to a height of 5,007 metres. Venezuela also is the home of the world’s highest uninterrupted waterfall, Angel Falls, with a height of no less than 979 metres. Venezuela has a lot more to offer, including beautiful beaches, national parks, churches and cave systems.
CARACAS
Caracas features both lively shopping streets and highly exclusive restaurants. This capital city of Venezuela houses many sights. Be sure to visit the house where Simon Bolivar, national hero and liberator, was born, or one of the many squares, the foremost of which is Plaza Bolivar. Venezuela’s most visited building is the National Pantheon, where the mortal remains of Simon Bolivar are interred.
BARQUISIMETO
Barquisimeto is the capital of the State of Lara, in the west of Venezuela. 65% of the city’s population consists of mestizos; the remainder are immigrants from Southern Europe, China and Libanon.
The Barquisimeto Museum, housed in a monumental building, displays many historical and architectural relics from the old San Lazaro Hospital, once the city’s public prison and also at one time serving as a manor. The Juares Theatre in the heart of the city nowadays is the city’s primary theatre and has hosted many artists.
VALENCIA
Valencia is the capital city of the Venezuelan State of Carabobo. The city is an economic hub that is the heart of Venezuelan trade and industry. Valencia is situated in a mountain valley and is surrounded by the Cordillera de la Costa mountain range. On the eastern outskirts of the city lies Lake Valencia.
