This tour is devoted to a visit to the villages in the Brokopondo district. Additionally, you can opt for a cruise on the imposing Brokopondo reservoir, also referred to as the Blommenstein reservoir. This reservoir was created in the sixties of the previous century by flooding approximately 1560 km2 of tropical rainforest in order to generate energy to supply the bauxite industry. Here, bizarre tree trunks stick out above the water and you can enjoy the beautiful view of the hilly region of Brownsberg.
