This tour constitutes an ideal combination of nature, culture, and history. You will be staying at a beautiful resort at the Suriname river, which might look like a Caribbean beach resort, but is surrounded by the almost mysterious and impenetrable Amazon rainforest. You will make trips to Brownsberg where you will enjoy the breathtaking view of the Brokopondo reservoir and the tropical rainforest, become acquainted with centuries-old crafts, and visit Jodensavanna, the historical centre of the Jewish community in Suriname. In other words; this tour shows you various facets of Suriname, your destination.

Stay
You will stay in comfortable cabins at the Overbridge River Resort. The cabins are equipped with air-conditioning and have modern bathroom fixtures, running hot and cold water, a refrigerator, a microwave, a coffee maker, 2 beds, a table and chairs, and a beautiful veranda with a view of the creek, the forest and/or the Suriname river.
Facilities
The Overbridge River Resort offers a beach restaurant where delicious dishes are being served daily. In addition, you have access to a beach volleyball court, a mini-football field, and playground equipment to be freely used by children. You can also rent a canoe.
Day 1
You will leave Paramaribo in the morning and you will be introduced to various ancient crafts, such as traditional woodcarving and Native American pottery-making. Enriched with this knowledge, you will then travel to Overbridge, where you will be able to spend the remainder of the day entirely as you please.
Day 2
A boat will take you to Jodensavanna where you will find the ruins of the oldest synagogue on the American continent. After having spent the morning at this historical former Jewish settlement, you will return to Overbridge where you will be able to spend the afternoon as you please.
Day 3
The entire day is devoted to Brownsberg. You will visit one of the idyllic waterfalls and enjoy the magnificent view of the Brokopondo reservoir and the tropical rainforest. At the end of the afternoon, you will return to Paramaribo, tired yet satisfied.
