Plantation Frederiksdorp, a former plantation that now functions as a holiday resort: History, culture and nature
Would you like to taste a bit of Surinamese history and culture? Or do you want to experience the beautiful Surinamese nature? Which can! Plantage Frederiksdorp is not far from Paramaribo. History, culture and nature can all be found on this former 18th century coffee and cocoa plantation. Plantation Frederiksdorp is located on the right bank of the Commewijne River in the Commewijne district.
Day trip or overnight stay
You can make a day trip to Plantage Frederiksdorp, but you can also spend the night there. Either way, you will thoroughly enjoy this beautiful resort. At Plantage Frederiksdorp you will find a swimming pool to cool down if you are bothered by the heat. There is also a restaurant where the most delicious meals are prepared. What makes Plantage Frederiksdorp even more special is that you can pick fruit on the estate: from oranges to manjas, or mangoes, papayas and coconuts.
