Paradise Island is an island in the Brokopondo reservoir. You’ll feel like you’re on a tropical island! It is a resort with all sorts of things to do, from a fanatic fishing expedition to a dive in the swimming pool. A boat trip along Maroon villages on the Upper-Suriname river is also just one of the possible adventures. Paradise Island is the perfect destination, whether you’re looking for nature, adventure, culture or peace and quiet.

Transfers, guide, 2 nights stay, all meals, coffee, tea, water, syrup and local excursions.

Transport
By minibus over asphalt and jungle, bauxite roads, about 130 km in total (+/- 2 hours), then from Afobaka Dam in a large dug-out to paradise, +/- 1.5 hours.

Stay
Two nights in a comfortable cabana or lodge. The cabana is furnished with a double bed and en suite bath and toilet. The lodge, which can accommodate up to 10 people, is furnished with four double and four single bunk beds and one double bed. There is also one communal toilet and bathroom in the lodge.

Facilities
There is a swimming and children’s paddling pool. There is no mains electricity, so there are no wall plugs, but solar panels in the daytime ensure that there is lighting in the evening.

3-Day tour

Day 1
Departure for the Afobaka Dam and transfer to a dug-out to Paradise Island. Lunch on arrival followed by the opportunity to swim. In the afternoon, a jungle walk on the nearby mainland. Information about the next day’s programme after the evening meal.

Day 2
After breakfast, a 1.5 hour boat trip to the impressive Upper Suriname, a walk in the Maroon village Duatra, lunch nearby and then swimming and relaxation in the impressive Bakaaboto rapids. In the evening, a sumptuous BBQ on Paradise Island.

Day 3
After breakfast, the opportunity to swim and relax on the beach/at the swimming pool or to go fishing in the lake. After lunch, departure by dug-out to the dam, then the bus back to Paramaribo.
