Multi-Day Tour: 3/4/5 Days Anaula Nature Resort

This magnificent resort with a swimming pool is situated on the banks of a beautiful island on the Upper Suriname river, at the foot of the Ferulassi waterfalls. It is a comfortable and unique resort in the Amazon rainforest with its turbulent rapids, delightful fauna and flora, idyllic beaches/islands, and the fascinating Maroon culture.

Including: transportation by minibus and boat, accommodation, guide, meals, coffee, tea, water, juice and local excursions

Transport
Transport takes place by land. A minibus will bring you to Atjoni in approx. three hours. There, you will transfer to a korjaal, which will take you to the Anaula Nature Resort, a short trip of approx. one hour.

Stay
The Anaula Nature Resort consists of twenty lodges that all offer a lovely view of the river. These lodges each can accommodate two to five persons and are furnished with canopy beds complete with mosquito nets, comfortable furniture, a bathroom with a shower (cold water), toilet, and a veranda.

4-Day Tour

Day 1
Following your arrival, you will be given the opportunity to explore the resort. After supper, your guide will provide you with information about the surroundings and explain the Saramaccan culture.

Day 2
You can spend the morning as you please. After lunch, you will take a walk through the forest on the island. You will receive an explanation of the local medicinal use of plants. After the forest walk, you will set sail by korjaal to a sandy beach on an uninhabited island where you can relax, swim, and enjoy a delicious whirlpool bath. Following supper, a korjaal will take you to an exciting adventure, in search of caimans.

Day 3
Following your breakfast, you will travel by korjaal to Nieuw Aurora. During the guided tour through the village, you will be introduced to the unique way of life of the local population. From Nieuw Aurora, you will travel on foot to the village of Gunsi while passing by various herb gardens of the local inhabitants. After supper (minimum of eight participants), you can enjoy a traditional and cultural dance performance.

Day 4
You can spend this morning any way you like. Your stay will come to an end after lunch and you will return to Paramaribo.

5-Day Tour

This tour is the same as the 4-day tour, with an additional opportunity for you to make an excursion to the Tapawatra rapids on day four (for a fee).

3-Day Tour

Shorter stays? Popular is the 3-day tour. The activities undertaken are the same as for the 4-day tour. However, they will be performed at a higher pace.
