In the middle of the beautiful, unspoilt Amazon, only populated by the indigenous Tiriyó people, you find Suriname’s largest complex of waterfalls: the Wonotobo. The impressive area consists of a unique collection of waterfalls of varying height and power, like the Blue Crane, the Dutchman, the Frenchman and the 3-km-long Wonotobo Falls. Adventurous nature lovers will have an unforgettable time here.

Transport
The first part of the journey is by bus. The rest is by dug-out and on foot.
Stay
During the expedition you will sleep in tents erected in beautiful locations close to river shores, exciting rapids and imposing waterfalls. The last night is spent in the Residence Inn in Nieuw Nickerie.
During the tour you take a boat trip across the mighty Courantyne river, visit the indigenous villages Oreala in Guyana and Apoera in Suriname, cross the great rapids such as the Cow Falls and the Wanakabra Falls, walk in the beautiful jungle and explore the impressive Wonotobo Falls complex. There is also time to just relax, to swim and/or fish in the beautiful surroundings.

Day 1: Early departure to Nickerie by bus and then by boat to Cow Falls where you spend the night
Day 2: Arrival in Wonotobo
Day 3 and 4: Wonotobo
Day 5: Return to Nickerie for the last night
Day 6: Return trip Nickerie – Paramaribo
