Arrival at the J.A. Pengel airport (Zanderij) of Suriname. Bus transport to your hotel in Paramaribo. You will stay in a hotel of your choice in Paramaribo-Eco Resort Hotel or Krasnapolsky Hotel.
Today’s programme is a City & Shopping tour by Tuk Tuk so you can enjoy all the lovely things that Paramaribo has to offer you. Learn about the rich history of the ‘Wooden City’ which has been placed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. During this extensive City & Shopping tour, you will for instance visit Fort Zeelandia, the Central Market, the gold jewellers, the famous Mosque and Synagogue, the Cathedral and the Independence Square, and you can shop in the popular Hermitage Mall. (breakfast and lunch),you will stay in Eco Resort Hotel or Krasnapolsky Hotel. Meals included for this day: breakfast and lunch.
Day 3
In the morning you will leave from Paramaribo and first visit the butterfly farm before becoming acquainted with various ancient crafts such as traditional wood carvers and Indian potters. Having gained a wealth of knowledge, you will then travel to Overbridge where you can spend the rest of the day at your leisure. You will stay in comfortable cabanas at the Overbridge River Resort. The cabanas have air conditioning, modern toilet facilities, hot and cold running water, a refrigerator, microwave, coffee machine, 2 beds, a settee and a beautiful veranda with a view of the creek, forest and/or Suriname river. Meals included for this day: breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Day 4
You will leave by boat for Jodensavanna where the ruins of the oldest synagogue of the American continent is located. After spending the morning at this historic former Jewish settlement, you will return by lunchtime to Overbridge where you can spend the afternoon as you wish. Meals included for this day: breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Day 5
Today’s programme is a visit to Brownsberg where you can enjoy the idyllic waterfalls and magnificent view of the Brokopondo reservoir and tropical rain forest. In the late afternoon, you will return to Paramaribo, tired but with happy memories. You will stay in Eco Resort Hotel or Krasnapolsky Hotel. Meals included for this day: breakfast and lunch.
You will go by bicycle to Peperpot plantation. On the way, you will pass various small workers’ houses and plantation areas where you can sometimes spot many monkeys and giant lizards, before you arrive at Peperpot, a former coffee and cocoa plantation in the district of Commewijne. Once you have had the opportunity to view the impressive grounds of the former factory and have had lunch, you will cycle back to Paramaribo. You will stay in Eco Resort Hotel or Krasnapolsky Hotel. Meals included for this day: breakfast and lunch.
Jungle lodge Palumeu, near the native village also called Palumeu, is located along the Boven Tapanahony river in the heart of the Amazon rain forest. You will be fascinated by this part of the tropical rain forest where the sound of monkeys and birds announce the dawning of a new day, and where you can admire the impressive rapids, the unique flora and fauna, and learn about the current lifestyle of the native Trio and Wajana tribes. This tour is ideal for nature lovers who wish, in reasonable comfort, to experience the tropical rain forest as the natives have done so for centuries.

Accommodation
The lodges, 2 under 1 roof, have been built in traditional style with a veranda which offers a spectacular view of the river. Each lodge has a bedroom with two single beds and mosquito nets, own toilet and shower with cold running water.
Day 7
After your arrival on Palumeu, you will be taken to the beautiful island of Palawa for a picnic lunch and a delicious dip in the cool river water. In the late afternoon, you will visit the Indian village of Palumeu where you will learn about the current lifestyle of these oldest inhabitants of the Amazon forest. Meals included for this day: breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Day 8
On today’s programme is the Potihill, a granite hill which you will climb. After the effort required to climb to the top, you will be rewarded with a breath-taking view. After your return, in the late afternoon, you will have the chance to try your hand at archery. Meals included for this day: breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Day 9
In the morning, you will leave by korjaal for the Mabuka waterfalls for a wonderful relaxing day. The more active among you can enjoy a walk through the jungle. In the evening, you will be taken on a cruise along the river to enjoy the nocturnal jungle sounds. Meals included for this day: breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Day 10
In the morning, you will go on a long village walk. After lunch, you will leave again for Paramaribo. You will stay in Eco Resort Hotel or Krasnapolsky Hotel. Meals included for this day: breakfast and lunch.

Day 12
Early in the morning you will leave from Paramaribo, via the East-West connection, through the districts of Commewijne and Marowijne, towards Albina where you will arrive later that morning. The journey will be continued from here by boat. The boat trip will take about an hour and a half. After lunch, you will go for a walk through the village and become acquainted with the culture of the friendly native Caribbean tribe. After dinner*, you will sail to Babusanti, one of the few places in the world where you can see the giant turtles which come to lay their eggs on the beach. This is an annual occurrence during the nesting season which takes place from February to mid-August. Outside of the season, this visit to the turtles is replaced by a cultural show. Meals included for this day: breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Day 13
After breakfast, the guide will take you for a beach walk and you will have the chance to take a refreshing dip in the river. Afterwards, the guide will take you on a walk through the village of Christiaan Kondre. On the way back to Paramaribo, you will stop off in Frans Guyana where you can also visit the former prison (optional). You will stay in Eco Resort Hotel or Krasnapolsky Hotel. Meals included for this day: breakfast, lunch and dinner.
The Commewijne river cruise is a cruise with a comfortable roofed wooden touring boat. The highlights of the cruise are a visit to Frederiksdorp plantation, Margrita plantation and Fort Nieuw Amsterdam. You will also be able to spot dolphins at the estuary to the Suriname river. You will stay in Eco Resort Hotel or Krasnapolsky Hotel. Meals included for this day: breakfast and lunch.
Unfortunately, today is the last day of your tour. You will be collected in the afternoon for the transfer to the airport. You will arrive at Schiphol airport the following morning. Meal included for this day: breakfast.
